Voice Mapping

Can you tell me more about what I can expect in a Voice Mapping Session?

Matt Kramer believes that each day of our lives is recorded in some way akin to a tree growing a new ring each season. In each ring is recorded stressful or traumatic events you experienced and, very important, the coping skills you called up or invented to respond to the stress. At the time, that particular coping skill was the best tool you had available. For example, if a child grew up in an environment of extreme criticism, she or he may have coped by disconnecting from their emotions or becoming self critical as well. While that subconscious mechanism helped them get through their childhood, most likely it caused problems later in life when they had problems with self confidence or trying to form intimate relationships.

That ring of history, and many hundreds more, is still active somewhere within you. Hyper-vigilant, whenever you encounter an element connected in some way to that early experience, at some level, alarm bells go off and your subconscious initiates behavior for you to avoid or escape the moment. There is a saying, "Fish don't know they are wet." When you've lived with a behavior or stress response most of your life, it may not seem out of the ordinary to you. If you notice anything at all, you may say, "that's just the way I am." However, when you've cleared early forming memories connected to parental or other experiences, you stop that behavior and often realize numerous ways in which you feel better being in the world.

Life Transformation Management/Energy Work

How does energy work help me in my life?

We are all energetic beings and we store experiences, memories, thoughts, and emotions within our tissues, organs, and cells. By clearing the energy and lifting your vibrations, you are able to move forward from your past into the present, create space to manifest your dreams and goals, and release patterns of behavior that do not serve your best interest.

Will doing energy work interfere with medicines that I take and the treatment regiment that I have with my physician?

Doing the energy work listed above will actually work synergistically with your traditional medical approach. While conventional medicine looks at the symptoms and the physical expression of dis-ease, the energy work like IET, Holographic Sound Healing, and Akashic Record Consultations work on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels of our being. It is important to note that these energy modalities are not intended to diagnose, treat, or heal disease. Furthermore, they are not intended to replace your physician's role or treatment plan. If you require medical attention, please contact the appropriate healthcare provider.

Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pronounced ‘pi-lah-teez’, & also called ‘Contrology’, is a physical fitness method developed by Joseph H Pilates. It consists of a multitude of controlled, precise movements performed on a floor mat or special designed apparatus. The program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced & which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates’ exercises teach corrective exercise through breath awareness & alignment of the spine, & aim to strengthen the deepest abdominal muscles.

What is the History of Pilates?

Joseph was born in Germany in 1880; he was a sickly child who suffered from asthma, rickets & rheumatic fever. He dedicated his entire life to improving his physical strength by studying body-building, yoga & gymnastics. In 1912, Pilates moved to England, earning a living as a boxer, circus-performer & self-defense trainer. He came to believe that the "modern" life-style, bad posture, & inefficient breathing lay at the roots of poor health.

During World War I the British authorities interned him with other German citizens in a camp in the Isle of Man, where he trained other internees in fitness & exercises. Here the beginnings of the Pilates Method began to take shape.

What are the Six Principles of Pilates?

1) Concentration 2) Control 3) Centering 4) Breathing 5) Flow & 6) Precision. These principles train the body to move efficiently with minimal impact on the body. The balance between strength & flexibility creates a healthy, vigorous & symmetrical workout for all muscle groups resulting in a leaner, more balanced, & stronger body. People who do Pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, experience better overall health & improve the overall way your body looks & feels.

How does Pilates differ from Yoga?

Pilates works the whole body, emphasizing control, precision & concentration in both the mind & the body. What makes Pilates different from Yoga is that it’s more dynamic. In many of the exercises, the abdominals, lower back & buttocks ("powerhouse") serve as the center of all movement, allowing the rest of the body to move freely, which challenges your balance, core strength, stability & flexibility.

What are benefits from Pilates?

Many of the benefits include, but are not limited to: improved strength, flexibility & balance, toned & lean muscles without bulk, reduced stress, boosted energy, increased joint range of motion, improved circulation & offer relief from back pain & joint stress.

Is Pilates appropriate for any fitness level, body condition, age & gender?

Yes, the exercises can be modified & customized for individual needs. Many of the exercises are done from a reclining position & the low impact nature of Pilates makes it ideal for injury prevention & rehabilitation. When Joseph Pilates first developed his system, it was for his own benefit & to help soldiers recover from injury. In fact, the Pilates method is so successful that many professional athletes, NBA, NFL & PGA use them.

How often should I do Pilates?

Two to four times a week, taking a day off in between sessions to rest or enjoy some kind of cardiovascular activity. You should start seeing & feeling results in about 10 to 15 sessions. (Joseph H Pilates once said, "In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, in 30 you’ll have a whole new body.")
